Real Estate Overview for Northern Virginia 2018
The second half of 2018 is underway. Looking at the mid year numbers for the Northern Virginia Housing Market, prices have been climbing since 2017 but not at such a high climb when comparing month over month. Yearly trends tend to give a better understanding of the market conditions. As of the end June 2018, Northern Virginia housing prices increased 4.5% since the same time in 2017 for attached homes putting the average Sold Price at $398,898 and for single family homes (detached) the average sold price was up 3.5% at $670,364. In September of 2017 prices were actually lower than prices recorded for August & July 2017 as reported by Smart Charts where as attached in September averaged $565,000 and for attached average $349,900 compared to July 2017 single family averaged $580,100 & attached $358,600.
