Things to do in Stafford

Ferry Farm:

George Washington’s Boyhood Home and the place from which the “chopping of the cherry tree” tale originated.  Come walk where the boy Washington lived from age 6 until he was grown.  Self-guided tours allow exploration of this 80+ acre site.



Government Island:

Government Island, a historic 18th and 19th century quarry site provided Aquia sandstone for the construction of the U.S. Capitol and the White House and other historic buildings in Washington, D.C.
